That time of year is upon us here in the Lowcountry. It’s time for the Beaufort Shrimp Festival. This Lowcountry event incorporates fun and engaging activities for people of all ages. Many local restaurants will also be in attendance offering up free sample dishes from their restaurants which include shrimp. There will be prizes and rewards for the best recipe and most creative recipes as well as many other prizes. One of the many highlights of the event will be the live performances and concerts. The main event starts Friday October 2nd 2015. For Saturday, the day start with a 5k Bridge Run/Walk over the Woods Memorial Bridge. As mentioned before many local restaurants can’t wait to prepare their delicious shrimp delights for the expected large crowd. Saturday’s events also include many activities for the little ones like arts & crafts, live entertainment, a special “Popcorn Shrimp Race” for the kids, and food and drinks. All in all this event will great and packed full of fun with some lowcountry tradition and cuisine. So if you're not busy during that weekend, come on out and have a taste of the Lowcountry.
